WELCOME TO OUR BIG TENT!
The Step Right Up Showcase  amplifies a unique body of disability theatre knowledge, from some of the most experienced disabled artists in the western world.

It offers you access to:
  1. A decolonized framework for understanding "disability" as disablement
  2. A comprehensive overview of disability theatre history and practices
  3. Salons showcasing disability theatre firsts, from the 1970s - 2000s
  4. Practice profiles promoting non-normative aesthetics & techniques
  5. A showcase of the Step Right Up (CripTeases) Closing Cabaret, with a sneak peep of Closet Freaks: A highly original QueerCrip production and featured artists Lyle Victor Albert, Karine Rathle, Miss Bea Havin’ & the spectacular Miss Monday Blues!

With more content coming for the April 17 public launch:
  1. Stage Left's podcast series on "Decolonizing Disability";
  2. Case studies of disability performance practices & their aesthetic properties;
  3. Showcases of more artists' unique practices, from the DDMAAC network;
  4. A summary of the many production barriers disabled artists face today; and
  5. The results of a national survey of included, disabled artists' experiences.

Because "access" is just the condition for disability theatre. Not the goal.
